inspiration
For this reimagining of the Grammys, I was inspired by marble statues. Marble has historically been used to immortalize musicians, poets, and cultural icons, signaling permanence, reverence, and legacy. Using this idea, I wanted to tie in the Grammys’ role in preserving the canon of recorded music.

process

My intention was to invite the viewer. With a red throne as the center-piece, it acts as a cementation of legacy. The idea of, "This could be you. Claim your throne." In this hall, you sit among the greats. I arranged all the elements in Cinema 4D. I wanted to make sure there was a general line of sight being brought to the Grammy Award. By using bright red as contrast and a volumetric spotlight over the model, I was able to recenter focus while still evoking an atmosphere of grandeur.

In the initial render, the statues drew more attention than the award, which I didn't want as it is the main iconography of the Grammy Awards. I brought it into Photoshop, where I color-corrected different elements of the render. By bringing the light down on the statues and higher on the throne and award, the piece was elevated with a clear direction. Additionally, I rearranged the throne and award for better clarity.

Lastly, I wanted to integrate the Grammy name into the styleframe. I decided to add this in Photoshop, intersecting the typography between the statues and adding depth through shadows. This way, it feels intentionally layered into the frame while still openly advocating for the Grammy Awards.
