In my time in New York for my internship, I had noticed a cockroach in my apartment. I don't believe in killing insects, so I let it roam around. I had forgotten about it until some following days, where I found it outside my bathroom belly up. By its stillness, I knew it had died. It made me very sad knowing I was the last person to see this roach alive, so I wrote about it. I felt it deserved to be remembered.
